Some pain after colonscopy.

Hello,

I had a colonoscopy 2 weeks ago. During the procedure, the doctor took some biopsies and removed one polyp. Ever since I have had a sore spot just to the left of my belly button. Its sore to the touch and I get pain now and again when not touching. I went back to the doctors and did I blood test and it came back fine and she didn't seemed worried. That was one week ago. Has anyone else had similar problems or maybe know what it is?

I had a scope 2 weeks ago. I was in a lot of pain for days which required morphine. We think the scope caused a minor flare to go into a full blown flare which resulted in a 4 day hosp stay! My gi dr also did a lot of biopsies as well during the scope. Perhaps the pain is due to the poyp removal? I have never had a polyp so unsure.

I've had colonoscopies w/o sedation and at two of them I had a polyp removed and experienced no sensation at all at removal or afterward.

As it has been explained to me the "interior" of the intestines has no pain sensation, it is the stretching of the wall of the intestines that produces pain. During a scope that would be over-inflation w/air and/or the scope looping back on itself stretching the colon wider at that point until the scope is pulled back and straightened out.
