Extremely nervous about starting the picolax, have only eaten toast and plain biscuits today so hoping it won't be too bad! Colonoscopy is tomorrow afternoon.

Good luck with the Picolax and the colonoscopy. Are your instructions set up with two separate doses? For me it took a long time to work. I drank the first dose at 6:00PM and didn't have my first bowel movement until 3:00 AM. It made me uncomfortable and nervous, but in the end I was cleaned out ok. I did add Miralax at about midnight, because I was getting anxious that the prep by itself wouldn't work. What time is your colonoscopy scheduled for?

I've drunk my first glass it it didn't taste great I suggest craigl that your son adds as much water to dilute the taste. I'm walking around rather than sitting as I read this helps things move quicker. I hope you son's prep and colonoscopy goes well :)

Hi gumby, yes I have 2 sachets. Drunk my first glass at 6pm and i have another at 8am tomorrow morning, my colonoscopy is at 2pm tomorrow afternoon. I've had stomach cramps since drinking it but no toilet trips yet just wind!
You would think by now they could make this stuff taste nice!

Don't panic...it really took me 7-8 hours until I started going. It is different than the other colonoscopy preps that way. It's nice not to have to drink a gallon of awful tasting stuff, but the trade off is that it takes many hours to start working. Keep drinking fluids as I think that may help

thanks gumby, i had 2 hours of horrible stomach cramps and feeling extremly bloated and then it started!!

my son's at independent stage, so he's not letting me assist with the preparation for the prep

Craigl make sure you tell him to drink lots of water, this has really helped. I was up a few times throughout the night. Drank my second glass of picolax this am which was much easier to get down this time and I'm now running clear! But I'm starving!!! Prep has not been as bad as expected. If I had to do it again ( which I know I will) I would not worry. I'll post later and let you know how the procedure goes

DRINK A LOT!
You can drink apple juice, it will help with the shakes as you will need sugar to replenish.
