Hello,
I hope you are all doing the best that you can under the circumstances.
I have not been on the site for a long time. I have been through many different medications for a long period of time, none that have worked for me. Also, I showed dysplasia at the lower end of my rectum, which was precursor to cancer. So,the decision was to have an "end ileostomy" Which was removal of my complete large bowel and sewed up my rectum and my small bowel now is a stoma on the right side of my body. It took me about 1 month to recover and now I am so thankful that I had the surgery. I am back to riding my bicycle, teaching my fitness classes, taking tai-chi, riding my motorcycle, and going for walks everyday and I can say I never have any pain in my stomach or running to the washroom or having messy accidents, as I had before surgery. I consider my surgery a "Gift from God". I now belong to the Ostomy Association of Nova Scotia, where I get so much support and information.
Take care, Lynn
