Hello, I have crohns now for the past 11 years. Was in remission for the first 8 and after it came back I had to go on remicade eventually after tests & treatments. So being on remicade for just over a year I got pregnant and at week 30 stopped it for almost 6 months. After having my baby I had some csection complications, bad joint pains in my hands and rash that appeared like psoriasis. My csection ripped open and I had it treated by a nurse. Thats when I asked to start remicade again. My doctor agreed as long as there was no infection present. After about 8 days or so, I had my first flare up. Bad abdominal pain. I didn't eat for 24 hours and than resumed on a light diet. Well, another attack came 2 weeks after that so my question is, does this happen to any people who stop remicade and restart it again? Is it not affective because I have stopped it or is it taking its time to work? I don't know what to think. I was hoping when I go back on it it'll be the same as my first time. My baby is just over 2 months and I'm nursing so I would hate to go on prednisone or different treatment. Please, could anyone let me know what you think?
Thank you,
Karin
