I'm going to try to not hijack your thread Octobergirl, but I'd love to get other people's input on this. My current rheumy has told me I don't have inflammatory arthritis/Crohn's arthritis because if I did, it would have responded to one of the many Crohn's treatments I have taken (prednisone, Remicade, etc). He argues that my joint issues were instead due to my hypermobility (I'm bendy). I disagree. My previous rheumy (in another state) treated me with sulfasalazine and methotrexate--I stayed on MTX for 9mo but couldn't tolerate it. The joint pain eventually went away enough on its own.
Now that its back (last 20 mos or so), I'm always looking for possible ways to ease the pain. My guess is you'll find more response re: LDN on the UC board as I've seen many more people post about it there than here. I take both Lyrica and Gabapentin to try and control my (possible?) constocondritis, which is really just another type of joint inflammation when you think of it, and they certainly help lower the pain, but they wouldn't be treated for joint pain alone, as they're typically used for fibro and neurpathic illnesses.
Is your pain in your knees primarily? Do you ice them? Take Tylenol or anything else? Do you exercise (exercise is very important for people with arthritis, even though it seems contradictory)?
