Feeling better but eating like there is no tomorrow

I am finally feeling better and was secretly pleased to have lost 30 pounds so I was able to fit in some of my older clothes but these last two days I can't get enough to eat. I hate that! I want to stay this size but I am a bottomless pit! This happens everytime I come out of a flare.
Any suggestions to ward off the ravenous hunger? I am taking a child gummy vitamin in hopes it will fill in my deficiencies but if my insatiable hunger is any clue, it is not working...

Oh I get that way too! I try not to deny myself too much because then I just want even more food. Spreading small snacks out through the day seems to be the only thing I can do to keep from eating the door off the fridge. I am making my husband try to keep me in line too with the prednisone going on now...good luck to him! Ha

I always get a million compliments when I am deathly ill and lose a bunch of weight. It is really maddening!! While I might look adorable as a size 6, I really do believe that my healthy body is a natural size 10....I think that if you feel so hungry, then you should let your body have nutrition. I never weigh myself anymore. I just try to eat healthy foods and exercise when I can and let my body be how it is. I joke and say I am storing up "reserves," but honestly, life is just to short for me to worry about it at age 55!!

i'm 26 and i have clothes that i have been wearing periodically for more than 10 years. in fact, my high school jeans are too big for me.

it's not as fun as it sounds, as you guys are all aware. but it does make for a fun/backhanded way to tell people how sick I am, so there's that.

for those unwanted compliments, i suggest responding with phrases that don't fit the situation very well.

"Oh wow, have you lost weight?" "You should see the other guy."

"You look fantastic!" "In for a penny, in for a pound."

have a little fun at their expense. it's what they get for making assumptions! Especially if you're unlikely to have to deal with them again any time soon.

I find my weight fluctuates a good deal due to crohns. When I am not flaring I gain very easily. I know there should be some in 'reserve' but I am not at all happy being overweight. I try to balance the eating with exercise and when I do it try to make it nutritious if I can. I am on Entocort and battled the wanting to eat all the time too. That effect has finally seemed to go away thankfully. I don't diet because I worry about losing valuable nutrients but do try to watch portions.
When I have acquaintances ask me how I lose so much weight easily I tell them get crohns. The symptoms suck but can be a miracle weightloss tool. They all just stammer something unintelligible and leave me alone after that
