Severe abdominal pain, constipation and few gases. Should I worry?

Yesterday was my last dose (2g) of ceftriaxone iv for my oral surgery. Woke up w severe abdominal cramps around the navel. This pain waxes and wanes. I took all the possible antispasmodics; those that cause d and those that cause c. Tried very hard to have a bm but passed out a very very small ball (sorry for the graphic). The important thing is that I feel as if my bottom is closed; I don't want to have any bms. The last time I had d was before the surgery last Thursday and after that I don't remember I had any proper bms. I force myself to have a bm and usually I have this pain around my navel that lasts for some time after the bm. Yesterday was the worst.
Don't know what to do: Should I call my GI in the morning or treat myself on my own? I have neither had these symptoms for weeks to think of fecal impaction (had it before) nor do I have nausea or vomiting which could indicate partial bowel obstruction. But when pain hits, I keep crying. I don't have any pain in my ileum as I used before. It's only located in my navel.

I'm now vomiting. Is this an indication of something? Don't know what to do :-(

I would definitely call your doctor in the morning, and if the pain worsens and/or you can't keep any fluids down, you might want to go to urgent care/ER/A&E (whatever there is near to you). Hope you feel better and sorry you're in such distress. :(

If the pain is coming in waves or is really severe, then I think you need to go to the ER. I'm so sorry....you have been through a lot of challenges lately

I gotta agree with gumby. If the pain is severe and now you're vomiting, time for the ER.

Gumby and Operatic, thank you very much for asking about me. Yesterday, woke up vomiting and decided not to eat anything. Then, suddenly, I slept the whole day. Pain was tolerable but still I had no feeling of having a bm. I called my GI and had an appointment for today. Before bedtime, I remembered senna sachets. Swallowed one and had severe cramps. In the morning, I woke up w cramps, rushed to the toilet and had a painful bm. Since then, I have d, nausea, headache and sinus pain. I'm waiting my GI's waiting room to see him. Will discuss both the issues of weak gums and foot edema and synovitis w him, too.

Saw my GI. I was screaming out of headache. He said that was sinusitis and then said you should not underestimate your oral cyst surgery. It could be the cause; you should have a dental panoramic X-ray esp. that I had been operated on both sides of the upper jaw. He prescribed panadol extra and mentioned he couldn't prescribe anything stronger like a NSAID for the sake of my stomach.
As for the synovitis, he referred me to a radiologist for a second opinion. Based on it, we might change my medication, esp. Entocort.

Hi minnietoty, sorry you are having troubles. If the pain gets too unbearable, I would go to the ER for pain relief. It is amazing how much a little morphine and some solid sleep can help both mentally and physically. With all this pain, you must be exhausted. Is Pandol just acetaminophen? If so, for me, that would not even touch the pain I have during a Crohn's flare. It would be nice to find a doctor who will treat you pain at home, but if you can't, the ER might be your best bet. Did your GI do anything to help with the flare? You need to get that under control to stop the pain. Good luck!
