After dealing with CD for 8.5 years, my son is moving to the adult IBD world. thanks for all the knowledge over the years. After the last 3.5 years on Remi, he has gone from 4'8" and 62lbs to 5'10" and 130lbs, graduated high school, starting university september. One question.
What's the longest anyone has gone on remi before having to switch?

Hey Bob, so nice to hear that your son is doing well. I think there've been folks on here with a decade or so on remi. I hope your son continues to do well on it.

How is he doing emotionally with all of these milestones? Do you think he is realistic about what he needs to do to stay healthy and avoid issues? Teenagers are supposed to rebel and struggle for independence - it's hard to know the future here but I hope your son does all his rebelling in areas other than his IBD!

Very nice to hear that your son is doing well. My hubby has now been on remicade for slightly over 6 years; the past 4 on double dose. He like your son owes his good health to remicade. I wish your son a very lengthy remission!

Glad to hear your son is doing well. That's great news.

I know a guy (a former co-worker) who was one of the earliest people to start Remicade, sometime around 1999. He's still on it, so it's about 15 years and counting for him.
