I am so excited! yeah Yesterday I logged into my bank account and found several thousand dollars in there from SSA. I logged into my account and saw that I had been approved and that it was the backpay, and will start getting monthly checks next month. I was super surprised because I hadn't heard anything at all, not even a letter or questions or anything.

I feel so relieved. I am so grateful for this amazing miracle - I only applied like two or three months ago. I feel so blessed and just couldn't keep it to myself!

Holy crap, I'd be excited if thousands of pounds was deposited unexpectedly into my bank account >_>.

Congratulations though. It sounds pretty hard to get on disability in the states, so they must have thought you really deserved it.

Thanks everyone! I heard it was hard, too. Like two years difficult. But I got it in just a few months. Definitely a miracle.

@gumby, you're so sweet, thanks for asking. I am doing much, much better. I even felt well enough to go on a date with my hubby for my birthday Saturday night, and we walked around downtown. Then I made it through all three hours of church on Sunday, and a picnic on Monday. I am a bit burned out today, lol, but the pain from the surgery is pretty much gone. I had a scare Thursday night when the edge of the fistula plug fell halfway out and was hanging by the stitches, but my surgeon cut it away Friday morning and everything looks ok for now! Hooray! :)

Yay! I'm not one of those people who feels grateful for being ill for the lessons it teaches us. For the most part, it just sucks! But when I have days that I feel well, I try to really savor them and enjoy every minute. I'm glad you are feeling better and doing fun stuff!!!

I'm happy you got it, and even happier you got the chance to go out with your hubbie. When I was really sick, I looked forward to just being able to go to church. How long did it take before you got disability?

Does anyone in the UK know if Crohns gets you disability, I have yet to submit my paperwork for it but my doctor didn't sound too hopeful when I asked about it?? But I can't work all the time due to flair ups and can't live off no money!!

WOW CONGRATULATIONSS the only good side of being ill i suppose and the thing that it teaches you many things and to love life :D i'm happy that you are well and woahh thousands of dollars??? in Bulgaria i get only 125 leva for my disabillity but it's still something :D :D
