Well Dr. wanted me to get on entivio but I'm still waiting for an approval. Any hoot, while waiting he wants to put me on humira cause I built up antibodies to Remicade. i just hung up with my infusion center that was trying to get approval for entivio and her hanging up comments were, I know humira is not going to work for you so please keep in touch. That comment burned my @$$, so my ? is has anyone had success going from remicade to humira.

I was on Remicade for almost two years. I began to get swelling in my joints and all around my body. I could barely walk or use my hands. Any movement/bump caused me bruising and muscle swelling. I continued on with two more Remicade infusions before throwing in the towel and demanding Humira.

I started Humira in September 2013 and I am still on it. It took a while for that Remicade reaction to move out of my body. I didn't flare or anything with the switch. I would say if you are doing ok now you should just be able to continue that with your switch to Humira. Good luck.

Has anyone else gone from Remicade to Humira and seen improvements. One Dr I know thought it was a waste.

I went from Remicade to Humira but there were 4 years in between. I was on Remicade for about 2 years before it started losing effectiveness and I was having recurrent upper respiratory infections, so my doctor and I decided to stop using it. That was in 2004 and I continued on 6MP (I had been on it concomitantly with the Remicade) for several years and then in 2008 began using Humira. The Humira worked well for a few years but I started having significant flares in 2012. The Humira definitely improved my health initially.

I've been on Humira for 3 months and 3 weeks ago my doctor added 6mp. I'm doing really well.

I went from Remicade to Humira, but also not directly.

I was on Remicade from 1999-2006.
I have been on Humira since 2011.
No other biologics in between (was on 6mp and pentasa in between.)

As far as I know, my doctor still moves patients to Humira or Cimzia after failing on Remicade. (which one they are moved to is based on their individual Crohn's history and success other patients have had with similar history)

Here in Greece docs first try Humira and if it's not working then they are switching you to Remicade.

I was on Remicade for 6 months. It worked great at first but I quickly lost response to it, even after the dosage was increased. I started Humira immediately after, responded quickly, and it kept me in remission for 9 years. So I'd say I had tremendous success switching from Remicade to Humira.

On remi for few months had flare up and colonoscopy. Docs said it had done nothing moved me straight to humira. 6 months I still waiting for improvement. Given up believing anything will work.
