Hi all. A lot happened since my last post. First I want to thank all of my fellow crohnnies on this forum. This past year has taken me on a winding and tortuous journey. This forum has been a constant life line giving me so much support, advice and compassion. Thank you for all your posts.
I have had Crohns with fistulizing disease for 20 years now. I have been on most all of the drugs out there. Entyvio was the last one.
It did help alleviate a lot of my most bothersome & horrific symptoms. I was on it 9 months.
Fast forward to present. My last scope showed areas of dysplasia.
I now find myself on a new journey. I will be having a total proctocolectomy and will have an ileostomy.
I did have an ileostomy a very long time ago but I was able to have it reversed. I already know what it is about.... and I accept this.
I have to take this next step.
I am scheduled to have my surgery in early September.
To all of you on this forum...continue to fight the fight! There are always new drugs coming down the pike....and one day maybe the monster that is crohns & ulcerative colitis will not just be tamed, but will be cured!!!
I already started going to the ostomy forum. I have not posted yet but I have already acquired a wealth of information. These forums, along with the internet & you tube are so incredibly helpful & so insightful.
KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!!!!
I am wishing you all well & hope you all make strides on your journeys!
Sending you all hugs!!!
Thank you all!
