Somebody please tell me what can I do?
I am about to start remicade with in a week or 2 and Iturn 19 next week and iI just found out since I'm not in school , they are trying to drop me frommy moms insurance November 16th. They already signed me up for the rremind start program where my remicade would b 5 dollars a month but like if I applied for Obama care or whatever would they still let me get remicade treatment's or the program I just really DONT want to lose out on this opportunity I DONT know what to do confused

If you are in the US, you should be able to stay on your mom's insurance until age 26....it has nothing to do with being in school. Does your mom have group insurance from her employer? If so, then you or your mom needs to talk with her human resources department and find out what's up. If you can't get insurance from your parents and you have no income, then you should be eligible for Medicaid. Then you would need to contact the makers of Remicade to see what they can offer.

Thank you gumby and yes I live in Louisville and my mom said she is going to try an call them tomorrow an see I'm just scared to start remicade in next week or so and then they just take it away from me that's probably going to make me real sick

I'm glad she'll be calling them. I have the same insurance, they don't cover that great with Remicade (at least our plan doesn't). I have to pay about $500 for each infusion. The Remistart program isn't as good as the other programs for biologics. Although it does help a lot, they only cover the costs of the medication. Not the infusion center costs. So it's no $5 an infusion unfortunately. If you end up on medicaid you can't use Remistart at all. For some reason they don't help at all with medicaid or medicare.

Each Blue Cross contract is different according to what your company negotiates as far as co-pays deductibles and maximum out of pocket expenses. So two Anthem Blue Cross policies might have completely different coverage. At least that is what I understand.

Jen77 my insurance pays for all of my remicade , they literally told me that I just have pay 5 dollars thats it so idk. Hopefully they keep me on there though this is just not fair!

Oh yeah for sure, they are all different. My husband's company is rather cheap, so not surprising. Each time I go it's $19,000. So it's been by far the most expensive treatment I've done. That's great that you don't need Remistart and that you'll only have to pay $5 with the insurance. Hopefully they'll be wrong and have to keep you on for a few more years. I got married at 18 after graduating, we had to find our own insurance since that's when I started getting sick. Made it hard. So it's something to start looking in to eventually, since we can't stay on our parents forever anyway.

Yeah true , and oh no she said my co payment would of been pretty steep if I didn't have the remi program . So she said the remi program made it 5 dollars somehow that's all I got to pay and I also met my deductible this year. But like said hopefully they keep me on there I pray to god they do lol

You can stay on your parents policy until you turn 26. If their coverage is via their employer, the employer can require to pay the full amount of the premium for you.

Oh I see! That's really good though. I miss the days when I had Humira and Cimzia. Humira was $5 and Cimzia was free! I've had to fight all year just to get my Blue Cross to even cover the Remicade. My doctor said it was pre-approved, then they acted like it wasn't. I did something like 6 infusions before it got straightened out and they finally started paying their share. At $19,000 a pop I was sweating that out. Then you fax the EOB to Remistart, and they said it wasn't detailed enough. So I have to have the hospital mail me a detailed bill after each infusion. It's a bit of pain. But thankfully we won't owe too much afterwards. It's just been a lot more stressful this time around. Shouldn't be so hard for us to get our insurance and meds!
