Needing some input. I have dealt with Crohn's disease with chronic kidney stones for almost 20 years. I was recently diagnosed with costochrondritis, which is extremely painful. I am in constant pain will all 3 chronic conditions. Is there anyone that has Crohn's disease and costochrondritis that their doctor has said they are definitely linked? Since Crohn's causes inflammation in joints and the sternum is a joint it would make sense to me that they are linked.

Yes, joint issues and costochondritis can be linked with Crohn's. What meds are you on to treat the Crohn's?

Yes, they are definitely linked. Typically, if the costo is flaring up, your Crohn's is flaring, too. If you get the Crohn's in remission, the costo should calm down as well.

Oh, I've had costochondritis before. You're very right, it's extremely painful. I found that it did calm down when I got my Crohn's flare better under control. Same with my joints pains. Although my joint pains seem to linger even when everything else is doing better. But nothing like they were before. Hope you get some relief soon!

Hello I'm kind of new to this, my diagnosis is not final, but DR said likely Crohn's. My symptoms only started few months ago.
However, I had costochondritis 2 years ago that lasted for a long time, I didn't do anything for it until it got so bad I couldn't move without flinching. What helped me were salt water compress as well as drawing iodine nets on the area. In addition I was taking Motrin for inflammation.

I'm now wondering if it is related to my Crohn's diagnosis, which I knew nothing about 2 years ago.
