Itching

I've been suffering with bouts of itching for about 6 weeks, it subsides as long as I keep taking allergy meds. There are no external rashes or bites so my best guess is it's either medication related or a new food allergy. It's mainly on my feet and hands. Any ideas? I'm going to run it by my GI on Tuesday to see if he thinks it could be Humira related.

Not sure how common this is, but both myWOWgirl (used to be on here a lot, she hasn't been around much lately) and I have developed sulfate allergies kind of randomly. Sulfates are most commonly found in shampoos, conditioners, and some lotions. I would have awful itching but not really a rash. Not sure if this is it for you, but the fact that allergy meds help make me hopeful it's not liver or something like that, but rather an allergic reaction of some kind.

I recall being itchy around my shot area when I was on humira. Are you on any painkillers? Tramadol caused me to itch.

So I saw my GI today for regular appt and he doesn't seem to think it's medication related. He poked and prodded around my liver area with no pain so that's a good thing. But I do have to get blood work done, normal CBC with diff, liver enzymes, vit d and b 12. The labs from 3 months ago all looked good according to him.

Habs -- you might be onto something with dehydration. I've been struggling with that lately so I guess that will be one of my self diagnosis steps! B-12 is in normal range as I do monthly injections.

I guess the next step is my PCP.
