I want to feel positive about this, but it was only a 16 week trial with 68 people. That means only 34 received the new treatment. My scientific side is holding me back on celebrating yet.

I do like that IBD made the news about something other than having to go to the bathroom all of the time though.

And the results haven't even been published yet. They've just said that nobody's keeled over and died from side-effects.

Not that I hope this doesn't prove to turn out better than the immunesuppressants, but I'm not celebrating yet, like Habs said.

It was a compassionate use program so all 68 got SSI. The ones that were given the placebo were then given the SSI at the end of the trail.
