For the last 6 or 7 years, I used to have 7+ or even more bms and used to get dehydrated and was accustomed to being sent to hospital to get iv fluids. The rate of daily bms went down to 3 or 4 in the last couple of years w def times where the frequency increased to 8 or more bms/day. Other times, I would be constipated for months and for which my GI will let me undergo MRIs w/o finding a cause. I was used to this.
However, the last 3 weeks in a row and after I've taken my third remicade loading dose, d returned. I normally have 5 or 6 bms+ but I'm always fatigued and dizzy and it's now affecting my concentration. I never care about drinking water or fluids when d hits. All I care about and so does my GI is taking Imodium. Sometimes I have to take several capsules/day to stop the d.
I have long-standing GERD that causes me thirst all the time. However, with GERD I can't drink all the time as this may aggravate the GERD. So, I might go thirsty so as not to trigger my GERD on one hand. On the other hand, I have to drink a lot of fluids to replenish what I lose from d which actually doesn't happen. No matter how many liters of water I drink, if I do, it never quenches my thirst. Still, the fatigue and weakness urge me to find a way to make up for the loss of minerals and fluids.
I'm not anemic. The last blood work showed normal levels of hemoglobin, WBCs, RBCs and other blood components which was weird as I have always suffered from anemia. I take a monthly B injection and am on a multivitamin.
Are there any suggestions of drinks, juices or soups that you drink to replenish your fluid loss? Btw, I don't have where I live drinks like gatorade. All I have is Ensure and it's not doing me any better now. I need examples of drinks or juices I can prepare myself at home. Thank you.
