Anything that you can eat that is high calorie and doesn't cause you symptoms is ok for you to eat. Food won't make your disease worse....it can however make your symptoms worse. So if you can eat burgers, chicken, fries, protein shakes or whatever you want and it doesn't bother you, then absolutely go for it. Some people are lactose intolerant and can't handle dairy, and others do great with ice cream and shakes and stuff. That's why food diaries can sometimes help. We are all different, which is why the advice on these forums often seems so contradictory. I know that I can't tolerate dairy well, but with other foods, I can eat it one day and be perfectly fine, and then eat the identical food another day and feel sick...it can be quite maddening!
But if you want to gain weight, then you need more calories and/or less exercise than you are currently doing. Or get better management of your Crohn's, especially if you are having lots of D or inflammation which makes it difficult to absorb food.
