Yep, I had a fistulectomy on my fistula. They basically opened up the whole track, cleaned it up and left it open to heal from the inside out. The first day or two was pretty painful, especially to put pressure on it sitting. Not to mention going to the bathroom, oh my use a stool softener if you need it! I remember having to take endless sitz baths. After a few days I wasn't in anymore pain, however it took a solid year for it to fill in and heal up. That was annoying, and I've been told it can take longer to heal with having Crohn's. But once it did heal up I haven't had any issues with it since.
I see you're on Remicade, have you been on it a while? I have always hoped I could get medication to heal them up before having to do that surgery again.
