Let me first off start by saying this time last year I had a colonoscopy done and it showed quite a bit of inflammation. 20cm from my rectum to my ascending colon, that was the worst colonoscopy result i had the entire time I've had crohns for these 7 years.
Fast forward a year on and doctor was stunned to see the results today.
Only 4cm of infected area in my rectum (proctits)
Colon is clean as a whistle (in hes words)
And this is only been on Pentasa 4G daily, Salofalk 4G enemas and Colifoam rectal foam. At the start of the year I did take prednisone 20mg taper and was on that for about
7-8 weeks but stayed constantly with Pentasa tablets and enemas colifoam only started 2 weeks ago.
I thought going in today i was gonna walk out with a script
for either Imuran or 6MP cause we have been discussing that in the past but he said i didnt need it from what the colonoscopy showed.
People I hear all the time you guys saying pentasa is worthless. It doesn't work. It's not for crohns. Please this is not true. Yeah it's a mild drug but it does work.
In 2013 my colonoscopy showed no sign of the disease at all while I was on Pentasa 4G daily and pentasa suppositories only.
Maybe it doesn't work for all i just thank God it has worked for me.
