Suddenly feeling really, really woozy and weird

So around lunchtime I started feeling really, really weird. It was like extreme vertigo, only with brain fog thrown in. Actually, it feels like I OD'd on Valium or something, or I just got 2 mg of IV dilaudid. It's been going on all day. I still have the on-again, off-again fever (today it was 102 for an hour, now it's hanging out at like 100.1). But even laying down, I just get these waves of lightheadedness, dizziness, etc. My blood sugar isn't low, I'm hydrated, I haven't started or stopped any meds, my blood pressure is 105/77 (which is normal for me), and my resting heart rate is about 100 (again, kind of normal for me).

Any ideas?

I had that same thing happen to me about a year ago. Mine was due to verdigo low potassium and cdiff at the same time

I hadn't even thought of an ear infection. My ears and sinuses have been a bit achy, but I figured it was from the cold weather. Maybe I should give my ENT a call. Potassium is a good idea, but usually when mine is low I have awful leg cramps as well, and I don't have them right now.

I know @gumby, right? It's been since Halloween, so almost 4 months. Usually though it stays under 101. I haven't had 102 in a month or so. I'm having a PET scan next week. I also will be switching anti-depressants for my post partum depression. The ID dr said a few years ago she had a patient who had unexplained fevers and after like 8 months they tried stopping the same anti-depressant I'm on, and the fevers went away. She said she wouldn't have even thought of it had it not happened once before, and she's never heard of it happening before. But my husband was on a business trip last week and I didn't want to switch while he was gone in case I had a bad reaction or something. So we'll see how that goes.

I have to ask, because I'm a nosy person when it comes to sinus infections (haha! a pun!):

Was the doctor an ENT or a primary care doctor?
And how did he/she determine it's a sinus infection?
And what treatment did he/she recommend?

Thanks guys, I got some Augmentin. Did not get prednisone, thank goodness.

@beave, I actually went to urgent care - I knew my ENT and PCP wouldn't be able to get me in for a few days, and odds are it'd be during my kids' naptimes. But my ENT told me once there that the only way to diagnose a sinus infection for sure is with a scan. Looking inside the nose won't tell you anything because you can't look high enough. So most doctors just go by symptoms - sinus pain, drainage, etc. Since my ears looked fine and I've been getting headaches between my eyes, and I didn't have pneumonia (chest x-ray), then we went with sinus infection.
