Ive never used this medication but hope this helps.
I've got these little buggers for long as i can remember. I just used to just put up with them but a while ago my GP suggested a mouth wash called Savacol by Colgate and it helped to a certain point it just made the stinging cool down so it was much easier to eat (cause mine sting when i eat)
At the start of 2016 i got a really bad flare and went on a very bland diet. I cut out alot of food, dairy, gluten much solids and it was just for a while but for that period i noticed i didn't get sores.
So i tried to figure out why?!! I experimented and i found my culprit.
GLUTEN.
I noticed everytime i would have bread, pizza, muffin. Basically anything high in gluten these little sores would appear a day or two later. I cut them out and i went a month without gluten and no sores.
For me its not crohns that gives me sores its gluten! Cause even when i was in remission they would appear, i was flaring really bad at the start of 2016 and didnt get them!
If you're gluten free and still get them maybe it is your crohns maybe its something in your diet.
Alot of things can trigger mouth sores
Sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) in toothpaste can cause sores
Many citrus fruits are highly acidic and can cause sores
Poor dental hygiene can cause sores
And yes gluten can cause mouth sores.
mine was gluten, try it and see how you go.
Hope this helps.
