I was recently diagnosed after years of being sick, and I finally got a prescription and WITH insurance it's $600. So we tried another, for Uceris, and that was $400 with insurance. Help! How does everyone else do this? I feel like I have to be missing something. There's no way I can pay $400 a month for medication as a grad student with no salary.

@Ides- I did that...but they said it's still $400. I'm not sure what's going on. Hopefully I'll be able to figure it out. Insurance issues are so frustrating! I have been waiting a year for medication, and now I have a prescription and can't even fill it. Ugh!

Uceris can be expensive. Try asking for Entocort EC instead as it might be more affordable. Ask about a generic, oral Budesonide, if there is any available?

most of the meds we have to take are outrageously expensive. I was on entocort for only a short time a few years ago and remember it being very costly. I had terrible bloating with it and it didn't helps so it wasn't even worth the cost in my case.
I wish I had suggestions and will keep thinking but other than trying a different medication It can be very difficult to deal with insurance.

Worst case scenario prednisone is dirt cheap, is 100 percent systematic (so brace yourself for side effects), but effective. Uceris/Entocort is 90 percent topical and only 10 percent systematic.

I would like to know what country you all live in - or countries? It upsets me to no end when people have to pay hundreds of dollars for meds. I am blessed with a healthcare plan that covers all my meds - even the $3500/mo Humira.
