Anal fissure bleeding

I have not had an anal fissure before but judging by the pain level it seems like I have one now rather than just internal hemorrhoids. I have also had a lot of bleeding which seems to be getting worse. Is the blood supposed to be like period blood? I am starting to get clots too.

By bleeding and getting worse, is it feeling like period blood in that it just flows and you're leaking and/or going to the bathroom a lot? Or is just around BMs? Either way, I think you need to call your GI ASAP. It sounds like a fissure, or a flare or c. diff. or something. The only time I had a clot with hemorrhoid was when the hemorrhoid actually burst.

I am going to the bathroom about a normal amount for me but the amount of blood is like I am havin a period. It only comes out when I have a bowel movement. No fever so I am guessing fissure. The blood is increasing with each movement.

Images are fine, just throw in a caveat for anyone squeamish. Honestly, with that much blood, I'd head to the ER and give a stool sample of it.

I've had anal fissures forever. In my experience, the blood is just like what you'd see from a fresh cut (because that is essentially what it is) - fresh, liquid, bright red blood.

I've had something similar - and it could be either fissure or hemmie (have had both). The bleeding happens most after a bowel movement. Please get it checked out!
