At my last gi dr visit the PA said she didnt think i really had crohns. I was instructed to stop taking methotrexate. So thats what i did. Its now been a month. I have begun to have all the symptoms that i had back in 2014 prior to diagnosis of crohns. My symptoms are nausea, migraines, cramping (like labor pains) abdominal pain that radiates to my lower back, orange liquid stool, and rectal pain with inner spincter muscle spasms. So i emailed my real gi dr sunday night. Today the dr office called me and scheduled for me to be seen on wednesday for exam and bloodwork.

No pill cam. Insurance wouldnt pay for it until all other tests are done. Now my medicaid expires at the end of this month. Last night i woke up with pain chills and fever.

I think in order to rule out Crohn's you really need a pill cam
Insurance can be so weird. My pill cam was totally free but I have to pay nearly $1,000 for a colonoscopy.

Noodles...i was diagnosed with crohns back in april 2015. It was confirmed by colonoscopy biopsies. So how can i not have crohns. My pain is getting worse. Thinking about
going to er rather than wait for dr appt

Yes, if your Crohn's was confirmed by biopsy, you still have a Crohn's diagnosis, but the question to be asking is whether you have active Crohn's now, or is it something else like an infection. If your medicaid is about
to run out, going to ER might not be a bad idea. You can at least get blood work and maybe a stool culture ordered that way. They might do a CT, but they won't do a pill cam in the ER. If you have a GI appointment on Wednesday though, it might make more sense to try to wait until then so a GI doc as opposed to an ER doc is the one ordering tests.

Sorry, yes, I meant to rule out active Crohn's at the moment as a source of your symptoms.

Well i made it to my gi appt. And of course i saw a PA rather than dr. The dr order bloodwork and stool test. I have to wait til tomorrow for results. They think it might be an infection like cdiff since i was recently on antibiotics. They wouldnt give me anything for pain.

Why on earth do they have the PA doing the work of the doctor. That doesn't seem right to me. If you're health is stable that would be fine. I hope the stool tests give you some answers

I just couldnt take the pain any more so i am in the er. The dr here is awsome. She said that she has seen a lot of crohns patients. My bloodwork showed low potassium and elevated wbc. So she gave me fluids potassium flagyl and cypro. And dilaudid for pain. I will be getting a ct scan soon. I finally feel like im getting the care i need.
