In December 2016 I decided to start going to the gym. What I found out is at first work out lightly on the tread mill for 4 days and I noticed my crohns seemed to get worse so I.stopped until.my guts improved which took about 3 days. Then again I worked out at.the same.pace as before and again after 4 dahs my crohns worsened but this time only one day. Then I continued at that same pace for one month and my crohns improved and my gut pain was almost gone. Then I added the elliptical machine and after 2 weeks was only using that machine, my crohns felt like it was close to remission. I continued increasing my pace until I was doing cardiac exercise. By May most people had seen a dramatic change in my body. I felt great. One thing I should mention is I always made sure to drink at least 1 bottle of water prior to exercising and one bottle during. By this point in time I could eat and drink anything I wanted. I was eating 3 fruits and raw veggies every day. The summer came and I took a break from the gym. By mid August I started to become tired and by September gut pain and bloating returned. I.started back at the gym qnd it felt like I was starting over. By gut pain is almost gone.again and i will make the same mistake again. The gym is now my life long friend.
I believe with crohns the biggest mistake I made was thinking not to stress my body at all since stress causes flares. What I learned is if I add physical stress my body will.start to adapt and my life will be better for ps instead of using weights I use gravity resistance to strengthen my muscles, including my stomach muscles. Exercis3s like the brick, pushups and superman.
