fistula or abcess???

So this morning I had to make an emergency u-turn and go back home. When I was wiping I found sore lump about the size of a quarter on my lower butt cheek near the rectum. Lucky me. How do I know if it's a fistula (already have an rv) or an abcess. You'd think after dealing with this DD for over 36 years I'd know. Ha Ha

The timing couldn't be worse for either one, we're leaving Monday for vacation and my niece's wedding. It never fails does it? You make plans and crohns does it's best to wreck them.

I'm going to go with abscess. You should get in to see your dr TODAY or go to the ER. That's exactly how I got my second abscess.

If you can take it without wanting to die, take cipro flagyl now and see if you can stop it before it bursts.
If cipro flagyl works in the short term, you still need to go in and see your GI asap. Whatever meds you're on are clearly not doing the trick.

that's what I was thinking but I've never had one so I thought I'd ask my experts. It's been so busy at work today that I haven't had time to contact my GI's office. Will do that as soon as I get off the next conference call.

I'm with the rest...abscess. If you have abx try it, maybe rub tea tree oil on it as well. Get to the doc as soon as you can though. Sorry this is happening.

I've given up on plans especially travel plans!! Too much disappointment and that's harder for me to deal with these days.

How are you finding entyvio?

hi UB, the Entyvio is actually working as of my scope last December and the EDG I had last month showed the beginning of my small bowel shows no active disease. No more chronic proctitis which is one reason I was shocked at finding that abscess. Overall I'm happy with it for now.

I did find some abx from when I had bronchitis earlier this year and started that when I got home.
No sitz bath so I'm sitting on a heating pad. I think I'll try the tea tree oil before bedtime.

I can't miss this trip, the only thing that is planned that I have to do is go to the wedding on the 22nd. Other than that we are just chillin'
