Interesting question....I'm the oldest of 10 (6 biological), and I'm the only one who had colick. It was apparently really, really awful (according to mom, lol). I'm also the only one with Crohn's. I apparently also had GERD all growing up with zero symptoms until my esophagus literally closed in college from strictures caused by scar tissue buildup over almost two decades. The GI actually chewed out my mom pretty bad after the emergency surgery (I stopped being able to swallow) for not giving me any medicine because there was no way I could have had such bad stricturing without heartburn....he was amazed when I told him I'd never had any heartburn ever.
When I was about 5 or 6, I stopped being able to eat without throwing up for a few weeks. My dad's uncle is an acupuncturist, and his former teacher from Taiwan was in town and checked me out. My uncle didn't know the English words for exactly what he said, but it was something along the lines of when I was put together (in my mom's womb), my stomach wasn't put together right. But he gave me some herbs that fixed it all up when nothing the western doctors did worked.
