gutsy, not the type of pain being asked about me thinks. when you have some types of surgery they inflate your abdomen with co2 or some other inert gas. to blow you up so they can se things and get places. if this 'air' gets above your diaphram, it migrates up to your shoulders and causes sharp pain that can last for some days.
justwant , try rolling over as much as possible and keep your head elevated for periods of time. this has helped me in the past to move the air around so it does not all sit in one place, giving you more internal surface area for the body to absorb it through the cells. i know a couple of times it felt like i was being stabbed with a long needle .
