I am on Entyvio and have had 3 doses so far. I was on Remicade for 2 years but had to stop getting infusions after it caused drug induced Lupus. I just had some blood work done and my CRP is 19.8 after previously being normal the past years. I am also anemic but I have been for a few years, so I don't know if there is a connection, but when I take iron supplements, I have problems with abdominal pain. I take stool softeners but they don't help with the pain from the iron pills. Mostly, I am concerned about the high CRP at the moment. The Lupus problem should have resolved by now, so I don't know what to think. I have a colostomy and have had half of my colon and all of my rectum and anus removed 5 years ago. I just want to know if anyone else has any similar problem, so I can relax a little.

If your CRP test is like mine, 10.0 and under is considered to be normal. My last test was a 7.0 for CRP. So your 19.8 isn't all that above the normal range. What your test result says is you have mild inflammation, which wholly isn't a terrible thing. Mild inflammation can be treated pretty quickly with small medicine adjustments, or just given more time to heal and that sometimes does the trick.

Iron supplements are pretty darn hard on the gut. Often the IV iron infusions are a lot better tolerated.

Iron suppliments can upset things. Perhaps you should ask your doctor about getting an infusion?
