I have noticed recently that I have been brusing easier than usual - is this normal?  I have bruises all over my legs and arms, everywhere.  Should I let my Dr know - since I am currently on Remicade?

I bruise easily too. I have started to bruise a lot worse since CD happened to me. I wonder if there might be some kind of connection to the steroids?
How has Remicade been for you? I'm a little nervous to start. I spoke with my doctor today and he wanted to go ahead and sign me up for my first infusion but since I'm hoping to get an offer for a new job this week, I told him that I wanted to put off starting my infusions until I'm out of the old job and old insurance into the new job and new insurance. I worry that there might be a gap in coverage or something and I would have to pay for my infusions, if needed. That would BREAK me.
I'm nervous about the possible side effects too. Have you had any side effects?

My mom has UC, I have crohns, we both bruise easily...if someone stares at me too long I get a bruise LOL!

Neither of us take any oral RX for our IBD so it's not necessarily the meds.

MMac, if you recently started bruising easily and you're on Remicade (or Imuran or prednisone), you should notify your doctor.

I not only bruise easily I get the type of places that people on coumadin get. The large blood blister looking things. It can be the lightest touch and my arms are just covered with them. I'm embarresed it. I'm not on remicaide My new GI doc said it was the prednisone. Also wanted to make a comment to Grace. What ever you do don't let your insurance lapse. I had to carry COBRA which by law is offered by the insurance company you are leaving until the new insurance starts. If there is a lapse then the new insurance company can call it preexsisting for how ever long there preexsisting time is, some are 6 months some are a year. I'm not going to lie COBRA is expensive but with this disease you don't want to have to wait that long before your new insurance will start covering anything related to your Crohns.

sbgrace - I have had 2 Remicade treatments and they have went well with no major side effects. i have really seen an improvement and very happy with the decision to start Remicade.

Hi Beave - Yes I am on Remicade, Imuran and Asacol. But, I will let my dr know on Thurs when I go for my check up.
