Bowel Prep for scope in the morning!

I just finished reading the phos soda post and I wish mine could have been that easy. This is the worst pred I've ever had to do. I started this afternoon with 4 ducolax laxatives, then an hour later a bottle of mag phosphate and then 328g of mirlax in 64oz of gatorade. Plus nothing but clear liquids all day today. I have been bloated, cramping, and having pain all evening long with the constant gushing. I'm actually sitting here in a diaper cause it hits me so hard I can't get out of the chair fast enough. What a nightmare. I'm wondering how long after the scope before they change my meds. They are not working and that is the whole reason for the scope that and being new to the area and this being a new doc. I wish they would start me on a new med tomarrow. He did promise to get me off the prednisone and I am so looking forward to that. I've been talking to my husband because I know every time I've had one in the past the Versed makes it so I don't remember what the doc says afterwards. I'm really hoping humira is an option. I don't want to sit for 3+ hours for an infusion and possibly have the side effects of remicaide when I can give myself an injection at home and go on about my day. I don't think my job would appreciate me driving a hour and half each way and then add the infusion time every so often. Anyway my husband does plan on telling them they have to do something quick. I have been miserable for 3 months now and working. All I can do is work and sleep and I have pain every day and don't feel I can take my pain medication (which this doctor doesn't want me on) while working so I go all day in pain then come home take pain medicine and go to bed because I am exhausted. I'm rambling I know, I'm just trying to get this last glass down and then I know it will be an hour or 2 if I'm lucky before it will get through me. So if your out there tonight and have nothing else to do, I'll be on here for the next couple of hours. Post a reply talk about anything and I'll reply back. Thanks for listening to my whining!

honestly, i wouldn't really consider remicade to be a hassle if it works. for me, it worked wonders. one saturday every couple months or so i'd go in to mayo, sit down for a couple hours, maybe read a book, watch TV, play gameboy.. and then go home and sleep. for a teenager, i suppose, thats the ideal saturday, minus the needles.

then i started needing it more and more often, so im on humira now... i have to self-inject next time, and ive never done that... so im a little nervous about it lol.

anyway! bowel prep. crappy stuff. it seems like they design it to taste awful and make you feel worse.

I am sorry to hear that you're not feeling that well. Anyhow just wanted to let you know that there is always someone here to help or a least listen. Anyways I hope this doctor makes a difference and you get to enjoy your days at work instead of feeling pain all day and rushing home to take medecine that will make you sleep and keeping you from doing what you want to do.

I've been doing a lot of research and so far the worst thing I've heard about the humira injection is the sting as it goes in and some soreness at the site afterwards. I've been reading that they come in pens which is nice. My dad had diabetes and used pen injectors. Just stick it in and push a button type thing. I am a RN so the shot part doesn't scare me. If it is a sub q injection meaning it doesn't have to go into a muscle then it will be a breeze. Pick which ever area is the meatiest, stomach or leg, that will help. Also it will help if have someone who will give it to you sometimes. I understand from diabetics that they get tired of sticking themselves and it seems to hurt a less if someone else does the injection for them. I'm sure if it makes you feel a lot better that alone will make it easier. I know it will for me! Just the thought of feeling better makes me very willing.

Hi Charlotte,
I have been on Remicade for over 2 years its been a wonder drug for me. Most of the time I take a nap during my infusions.
