Hey I found this on PubMed today.

It talks about the effects of Cannabis Sativa on the GI Tract.

Maybe I should book my next GI appointment for 4:20?

Just a quick FYI - Medical marijuana is categorically approved for Crohn's/UC in many states.

I suppose if you could have the marijuana without smoking it (bad for lungs) and without the THC, the rest of it might actually do you some good.

Even so....rolling papers are not covered under my insurance policy.

I tried it at my lowest low and it did help get the nausea under control and get me eating but the down side is the munchies killed my gut!

"Marinol" is the prescribed form.  I use it when I have bad flare up's.  It does work for me and I do get the munchies.  Suffered with Crohns for 26 years, 4 resections 81/94/03/07.  I have tried everything and I am still looking for something effective. I have to manage this disease cause I have 2 young kids!  I am tired of people saying "Keep a positive attitude".   Bite me!  You dont live with a Crhonic Disease and the other fun stuff such as arthritis, short bowel syndrome, fatigue, Chronic Diarrhea....... Add to all that during the last surgery at the Mayo Clinic they found "Colitis".  So I am the lucky winner of 2 great digestive diseases track.  I think I just better stay "numb" for the duration. I have talked to other folks who had some positive results from one form or another of cannabis.

I have the misfortune of being allergic to the stuff, and get migraines and nausea when I'm around the smoke. I'll have to keep the script form in mind.

I use it in a liquid form and it does fight inflammation. Half ml of herbs a day keeps the inflammation at bay.

My brother has a prescription for it for his crohns here in CA, the stuff makes me tired and lazy

It helps his pain but by far not his flares or symptoms. I know he has tried not to smoke before but goes back bc the pain. He is on Humira for the last couple of months and it is helping, I don't know if he is still using it while on humira. Years ago he got busted in the city and his Dr wrote him a detailed letter stating the benefits of use with CD. I can't use the stuff, as I said it just makes me feel tired and lazy but he has been taking this med daily for over 15yrs and has built up a tolerance I guess bc he works a labor intensive job 40+hrs a week and heads his crew and has a great family and is always doing stuff with his kids etc. So I guess it comes down to what works well for some doesn't for others? But I have never tried it long enough to get any kind of tolerance.

Ever since i started using it i noticed the mucus was way less in my bm's. but the best thing is my energy level is way higher. Even the next day.

But i make the M at home. Basically boil it in alcohol for an hour. Good recipe. Got it from a guy in CA.
