GOOD NEWS FROM SCOPE

Had my colonoscopy yesterday.  After  20+ years of having this lovely disease called Crohns, The Gastro gave me some good news.  At age 53 my scope showed NO signs of inflamation.  He even stated that if he did not already know my history he would have called the Dr that diagnosed me a Liar as I show no signs of  any disease.    Getting OLDER does have if benefits with this disease.  He told me that by the time I am in my 60's I will be off most if not all meds for my crohns.    This is the best thing I have heard in years as I was told I would be on meds the rest of my life for this.   I also trust my Gastro as he is tops in the field.  He is the head of the Oklahoma Center for Digestive Research.    So  I am at this point very happy with my scope. 

That's Dr. Miner over at OUHSC? I am in OKC as well, though have not gone to him.

I've heard good things about him -- my longtime GI will be retiring soon, so I will be shopping. Do you know any others in the OKC area?

Mike,  another good one is Dr. Maton other than that I have only  dealt with AF Dr's.    Not sure if he is still around thought it has been several years since I saw him.  He used to be at the Presby Tower but heard he moved to over by Baptist.

Yes, Maton is with the large GI group at Baptist. My GI is in solo practice there. I have also heard good things about the 4-person GI group out at Mercy, all OU-trained.
