Worse from Entocort, Azathioprine???

Hi I'm new here and have a question:

Has anyone here with Crohn's gotten worse after starting Entocort EC and Azathioprine, then felt tons better after stopping the meds? Blood tests got a lot worse too.

I was on Entocort 9mgs for five weeks. I had horrible headaches every day and it did nothing to help my CD symptoms. Actually, I went to the bathroom more often. It was awful.

Entocort put my daughter into remission with no serious side effects, but she has not yet taken azathioprine.

Yes, Yes. I had the same experience. Felt worse with the medications. Pain, terrible diarrhea, nausea, aching bones, dark stool, exteme fatigue.

I have been on Entocorte 14 months and on Imuran for 3 1/2 yrs. I have not had any problems except when I had to go w/o Entocorte for 4 days, waiting on pharmacy to get it in. Whew, hope that never happens again. It was awful. Susie

Thanks for the replies - it is good to know that I'm not the only one who can't seem to handle regular CD meds.

Hi Razzle just wanted to say welcome we need all the CDer's we can get the help is great and not having to handle this disease alone is the best of medical care .lol gail
