Please help me!!! Has this happened to anyone before?

I have been feeling like I am coming down with the flu lately but my temp has stayed just below 100 for about a week. Yesterday I got out of my car and screamed in pain. My lower stomach on the left hand side and under my bellybutton was on fire. It felt like my intestines were trying to rip apart and through my stomach. I could stand up straight and it hurt even when i layed down. I had to call my GI after hours and he told me to stop my 9mg of entocort. Well now I'm going through withdrawal of the entocort and cant keep out of the bathroom..I have an appointment to see him today but it sounded to me like he didn't care at all. Has any one ever experienced this horrible pain before? I also don't think it was smart of him to cut me off the steroids like that.

I had a similar experience not long ago. I had severe pain that came on suddenly and
then stayed overnight and into the next day. I too, couldn't move or stand straight, or walk.
My doctor saw me and put me in the hospital immediately. A CT scan showed a bad
area in the lower left side. That's where the pain was mostly located too. Then, I had a course
of two antibiotics and some prednisone, first through an IV and then pills when I got home.
Hope your doctor takes this seriously. It could be a blockage or an abscess as noted above.

since all of us crohn's sufferers are used to having stomach discomfort, we often miss the symptoms of other things going wrong. In mid april I started having some stomach discomfort. a very tender belly. a few weeks later, that turned into an excruciating burning, tearing feeling. My belly felt really heavy and the ripping, burning pain was felt mostly during the first 4 or 5 hours of my day. got to the point where I could hardly walk. Had a CAT scan that showed an abscess 4 x 6 cm. went to have it drained and radiologist said the abscess was only small and drained out 8 cc's and said he got it all. I thought I would take a course of antibiotics and would be better. No such luck! the pain was still there and 1 1/2 weeks after getting the abscess drained ( or so I thought) it burst through the side of my belly. I was bandaging myself up 4 and 5 times a day because this stuff kept oozing out of my belly. Had another scan shortly after and with the abscess now busted and drained, they could get a better look at the bowel. Turns out it was worst that originally thought. Had surgery on july 4th. 1 1/2 feet of small bowel removed and almost all of my colon. Had a hard time. Was so sick before surgery so recovery is slow. would love to hear from anyone who had similar experiences.

My doctor says he thinks it was a "muscle spasm"...ive had muscle spasms before..this was NO muscle spasm..he is having me get a blood sample and urine sample. I feel like he isnt taking this seriously. That pain was by far the worst pain I have ever felt!!

I am so sorry that you are having to deal with this. To answer your question yes I have but on the right side not the left.I have had times that I felt like some one had a torch and was burning my intestion(sp)and it het's like well you,any way I was put in the hospital because I had a blockage.Now I am not saying this is your problem and I'm not trying to scare you.I was in the hospital for about a week and the whole time I was there I could not have any food and very limited fluids.Because even fluids would make me throw up.I was allowed ice chips to keep my mouth from being so dry.You did the right thing by calling your GI.Please post when you find out what your GI has to say.

Really severe sudden onset pain in that area could also be due to a kidney stone, which CD patients develop more often than most folks.
