How are ya all doing, i havent been on here in a few years but i figured id write asking a question because ive been to the doctor numerous times and they cant hand me an answer. about 4 months ago i came down with a little cold, and it was hard for me to breath, well the cold passed, but still at sometimes i will have trouble breathing. I notice that it is often after i eat and when my stomach is full.. so i learned in anatomy that if your diaphram cant expand enough it would give you breathing troubles.

I am just writing to see if anyone else out there has had similar problems. Im on remicade and i was also wondering if it could possibly be linked to this drug?... any response at all will help, thanks... ill keep ya updated

Were just at the tail end of winter here in NZ and my lungs have been quite sensitive this past couple of weeks it hurts to breathe, I've stayed inside when the cold wind is blowing, I don't normally get colds and Flu, makes me wonder can Crohn's affect your lungs, I guess it can. A lot of Pine tree pollens around at the moment also.

Does your PCP know that you are having problems breathing? People on remicade are very susceptible to pneumonias. It might be a good idea to have a chest x-ray to rule that out.

i had an xray a few months ago... maybe i should go get another just to be sure. I just came down with a little cold, dont know if they are related. well, we will c

I started having breathing problems two years before I was diagnosed with Crohn's a month ago. They couldn't find a cause for the breathing problems (no allergies), but diagnosed me with asthma. I've since read that patients with Crohn's sometimes also have respiratory difficulties, but I'm not sure why. I just know that it seemed to be a precursor to the full onset of the disease, at least for me. I also started showing mild signs of anemia around the same time (borderline levels) and vertigo, so it may have something to do with the amount of oxygenation in the blood, but I wouldn't want to speculate about the origins. I just know that I experienced something similar in the absence of any medications, but it seemed related to the onset of my disease.

My pulmonologist pulled me off imuran in 2006 since bronchitis after pnumonia wouldnt get better. I was in remission at the time so my GI kept me off of it.

Hi I have had some more brething problems with all the meds the pred. gets me soking more but then I have emphysema also that is probably why I am having some problems. I get more phylem now and have had to use my puffers a lot more since getting sick in Nov. Hope you feel better soon and hope the x-ray comes out good. lol gail

When I go on one of my Ensure fasts during a flare, after a week or so, I begin to find that it's an exertion to breathe. Even if you're not fasting, you may want to see whether malnutrition or a serious iron deficiency is a contributing factor in your breathing problems.
