What do you take for menstrual cramps if on prednisone?

I read that you shouldn't take alleve if on prednisone, but I get really bad menstrual cramps. What do other people take for menstrual cramps while on prednisone? Have other people taken alleve? Thanks so much.

Well they told me not to take alleve, ibuprofen, etc. I have percoset - LOL.

what about tylenol? is that okay?

I think that Tylenol is supposedly the only "safe" NSAID that people with Crohn's can take. I've been taking it by the capsule full for muscle pain related to prednisone.

Tylenol is fine. I can't tell that it works much on me. When my cramps are really bad, I take lortab. You should also look at the kind of birth control you are taking. I was switched a little over 4 months ago to the 4 periods a year BCP. It has done wonders for my "stomach issues".

All I'm allowed to take is Tylenol. My doctor told me any kind of NSAIDS is off limits to me, and he believes my taking Aspirin regularly for headaches caused my GI bleed. Tylenol doesn't always work though, which stinks. I do have Vicoden for more sever pain, lucky I rarely have to take it.
