what are the signs of gallbladder trouble

I am having intermittent pain sharp under my right ribcage.  Wondering if this is my gallbladder?  Are there any tests to determine this?

Yes, a meal high in fat usually preceeds that sort of pain. It often feels like a spasm.....starts out as a dull ache and increases then wanes again. sometimes it will stay and become quite unbearable. A typical attack can usually last 1 to 2 hours. Tylenol #3 will ease the pain, the codeine helps to relax the spasms.
An ultrasound will confirm gallbladder problems. Smaller stones are more of a problem than bigger ones. The smaller stones can make their way down the biliary duct and get lodged....cause a lot of problems.
Try to keep a little note pad of your symptoms and when they occur. If you do get severe chest pain, don't hesitate to make your way to the ER.
