I feel so bad for you! If the gall bladder is the cause of it, then surgery should do the trick, right? Did your dr. give you any indication about how soon you should feel improvement with the remicade? How soon are you looking at doing surgery? I used to do remicade and it never really kicked in until they doubled my dose. After the first initial doses, I kept waiting to feel so much better . . . it just didn't really happen. After my first doubled dose, I could feel definite improvement but it only did so much.
I ended remicade last spring, tried humira briefly and then had a bowel resection. My problem was scar tissue and all the drugs couldn't really help that. The other inflammation really did improve with the remicade, though.
I am (finally!) feeling great and off of everything except imuran for maintenance. However, if (likely when) my symptoms return I would not hesitate to try the remicade again if it was recommended.
If you do have the gallbladder out, do you need to discontinue your remicade for any time period? I had major open (not laparascopic) surgery in June and they made me stop my humira 2 wks. prior (would have been longer if I had been on remicade) Just a thought.
Take care!
