humira and being tired

I did my 2nd dose of humira yesterday and I woke up every cpl of hours last night til about 6am.  After that I slept til 10:30...I woke up for about 40 mins then went back to sleep til about noon.  I got up had something to eat and fell back to sleep for a cpl hrs til my husband woke me up to write our rent check...the landlord doesnt stop by if the 1st falls during the week he comes the following weekend.  I then fell back to sleep til about 4. 

I have to make sure I stay up now since I have to go to my parents house and take care oif the dogs...then come back home and get up early in the AM to go there again...they left this morning and will be back monday evening.  I dont recall being this tired after my initial loading dose

I had my loading dose of Humira a week ago and haven't had any additional fatigue from it. I have my second dose in 6 days and I sure hope that I don't go thru the same fatigue you are experiencing now. I hope that you feel more active and alert soon dear. Take care!

I really think this is normal! I have been on HUMIRA for about 8 months now and honestly, I am always exhausted (and very very fatigued). But I do think a lot of this IS because we have Crohn's. Do you know what I mean? It could be a stage of your Crohn's where you are getting Fatigue if this is NOT normal OR your body is trying to adjust and get used to the Humira. Hang in there! Drink some tea and try to eat semi healthy if you can. Get rest and try to go to sleep and wake up @ the same time everyday if you can. I tried this and it did not work but that is because I am always so exhausted. This could be very temporary for now. But listen to your body and do what it says until things get figured out with the Humira. Give it some more time! We know this is a big drug.

I did my second dose of Humira on Thursday. By Friday afternoon I was incredibly nauseous and felt like I had been run over by a truck. By Saturday morning, the nausea had subsided but the fatigue was incredible. I have been really tired since the first loading dose, but this second one seemed to make it much worse. My GI is not sure if it is the Humira or just the Crohn's.

My son used to feel this way when getting allergy shots. Not so much the nausea but feeling like he was run over by a truck for most of the day. They affect the immune system also. his allergist didn't act like he saw this happen a lot so maybe only some people react so strongly. I believe many have this with interferon also.

I am so sorry for your tiredness.  I feel very fatigued most of the time.  I too am on Humira but I experienced this before Humira and have experienced this overwhelming tiredness for about 3 years or more now.  I keep bringing it up to every doctor I see and all say the same thing...it is your crohns.  Some mornings I am so tired I can't get out of bed to go to work and sleep till noon.  That part sounds alot like me.  One doc even diagnosed me with Fibro but my crohns MD said it was just crohns so who knows.  I hope you feel better.  I would get blood work soon but I am sure with the Humira your MD has.  It is so frustrating.  Hang in there

Humira makes me really tired also.  I take my dose on Fridays after work.  I can feel it kick in after a few hours. I hate doing the dose on the weekend, but need those days to get my strength back.  The fatigue is the main side effect for me.  It's very frustrating when you are used to being very active.

Yep, Humira, and when I was on Remicade, both make me very tired afterwards. I actually have a Humira dose today, so I'm expecting to nap when I get home, and I'll go to bed earlier tonight.

I just took my first doses. I cannot stay awake. But I was always tired even before the Humira. But I could stay awake. With the Humira if I sit down, I am asleep. I was finally diagnosed with crohns, thank God. I was first diagnosed with Ulcerative colitis. Then I was told by a new Dr. After my colonoscopy that I had neither. My problems continued. I now have a new Dr. He did a colonoscopy abd a video capsule. He said everything came back crohns. So he is trying me out on Humira. Question? On your first fill-up shots who felt better. Because I do.
