help with colon prep. . . arent i supposed to be pooping?

I did the fleets phosphosoda thing a couple hours ago. Im sure some of you know it, the one where you put the flavor packet and minibttle of liquid into 12 oz of water, drink it, then repeat the next morning.

I got nothing but wicked cramps. What gives?

For the last prep I did, I drank 6 or 8 glasses of stuff, pooped smooth for a couple hours without any cramps. This stuff is for the birds.

Anyone had similar problem, or have a suggested "overnight" remedy? (so I can get my scope).

do the second bottle 4 hours after the first

I think that's what I did with my last prep also, but my second bottle was 5 hours after.

Before you started the prep had you had a lot of D or not eaten much? Could you have been near empty already? I only ask b/c I prepped for a sigmoidoscopy once (w/ enemas) and had barely anything come out. It was b/c I had pooped so much earlier in the day there was nothing left. I hope you find relief soon.

I had visitors this weekend who got around to discussing colonoscopies. He described a situation he had that sounds like it is what is happening to you. He went to bed without any results, wondering what was going on. It hit him at 3 am.

i got to have scope tommarow and i'm using magnesium citrate it's not fun but you'll go and it's over the counter you can get it at krogers for $1.59 a bottle tastes like lemonade with no sugar
