To clarify your post, which drug were you on when you started having glucose issues, Remicade or Prednisone?
I'm not sure why he wouldn't put you on the Humira right away if that's what you're going to do eventually. When I looked into the Humira, it wouldn't have taken me very long to get it at all, it was just way too expensive the way my insurance was going to cover it (or not cover it in this case).
If you're worried about the side effects of the Prednisone, tell him no, you don't want to risk diabetes. It's your decision.
I know that sometimes Prednisone is a necessary evil, but my biggest fear also is getting diabetes, it's so hard to control. What were your issues with glucose? How high was it getting? So far I haven't had issue with my glucose, but if I did, I wouldn't touch the Pred.
My opinion only Gail. Everyone needs to do what's best for them, but I can see why your mind is fighting the idea.
