Since Saturday night I am having dull achey pain in my right upper abdomen under my rib cage spreading to my belly button. I also have a burning sensation all along my upper abdomen from the right to left side. It hurts bad on my ruq to take a breath and I absolutely can't sleep on my right side. I've been miserable for over 24 hours and I'm not sure what to do. I'll call my gi in the morning. (crohn's is in terminal illeum and rectum) Does this sound like a partial obsturction? (no bm since saturday night)

Not sure about
the obstruction, I've never had one. But I usually get pain like that if I have ate something that doesn't agree with my crohns. If the pain stays constant or gets worse I would go to your local ER to get checked out. If not then call your GI and make sure that you are seen this week. Good luck and I hope things brighten up for you. Keep me posted!

Hi Want Relief when I had my partial obs. I had lots of pain that had me in tears although I'am not a crier. I don't remember it hurting to breath, vomitting is also part of obs. , can you hear bowel sounds rumbling it is a good thing if you can. . Are you passing gas and have you a gallbladder I know that it gives pain under R ribs. Call emerg . if you are really worried. Hope things get better for you. lol gail

Never had an obstruction...sure sounds like gall bladder to me too. I hate to say it but I think I'd see a doctor tonight. Let's us know how things turn out.

I've had several obstructions, the pain nearly always, at least for me, is around the mid abdomen, it comes and goes in waves, at the
beginning accompanied with very loud bowel sounds. Following that comes the no bowel sounds & bad vomiting, usually fecal fluid. Your
pain could be the beginnings of an obstruction. It's something that needs to be seen. If you start to vomit, please go to the ER, or if your
pain increases, you probably could use some good pain management. Best of luck.

Also wanted to add, that when I had pancreatitis, the pain was in the area you are talking about
, I also found it very difficult to
breathe. That also needed emergency treatment. Please let us know how you are doing.

The pain
location and pattern of radiating pain, as noted above, could also be gall bladder. Being female you fit the profile. All good reasons to be checked by GI.

I called my doctor this morning and am still waiting on a reply. Today things seem a bit better, the pain is still there but not as bad as yesterday. I was able to have a bm today and it seems some better.
