this is the exact question i never really understood or got anwsered. A little background: in august i had about
2 weeks of straight diaherra, pain etc. I didn't see the GI until September and in the beginning of October i had my colonscopy. At the time of that colonscopy, the GI found the inflamation, ulcers etc. and thru biospies they said i had crohn's. But when that was done i had no symptoms. Now down the road about
a year later i had my second one done. At that time i had severe diaherra, pain etc. nothing showed up. My doctor said that your symptoms don't necessarily indicate a flare up. and that i must have ibs as well. Now when i feel bad i never know when i am truly in a flare and i'm not running to get another colonscopy done again. I think the best bet is to treat the symptoms. There may have been diease higher up who knows. but my whole crohn's experience has always been that way. Sick a little while, fine some days. Who knows it's all confusing.
