Guys,
Really looking for advise/insight here
I have had crohns for about 15 years,
2 years ago, had a resectioning of the terminal illeum,
since then, I have had some epsiodes of partial obstruction.
On Sunday morning, I woke up, and thought I was having diarrea, but when I looked in the toilet it was all dark (maroon colored) blood. I immediately went to the ER, Got very light headed, etc,
had a few more bleeding episodes in the ER,
they finally admitted me and over the next 3 days had 3 Units of Blood, and the upper endoscopy and colonoscopy done.
By the time I did the prep fo the colonoscopy (18 hours after the first bleed the bleeding had stopped).
The tests showed no active bleeding or ulceration in the stomach, Duodenum, or Large intestines.
I am sceduled for a capsule endoscopy next Thursday.
Here is my concern...
I did not feel sick, I do not feel sick, but I lost a lot of blood
No reasoning, no warning signs.
And I am scared that this can happen again without any warning.
Until the Capsule endoscopy is done, I will not have answers.
Should I be this worried for the next 7 days.
Is the bleeding serious (like can I bleed out)
Or should I just relax, and assume that it was an isolated incident?
Not sure what to think, but I am freaking out a little
(FYI, my doctor put me on entocort for this, so if it is inflammation in th upper GI, they are trying to treat it)
Thank you for reading and responding to this
I need as much info as I can get
