Idea for the mods and admin

Being a new member I think that is a great idea. I have a question about Salofalk enema's which I am sure has come up in the past.

I make it a habit to do searches before I ask a question, but unless you word it exactly right, nothing comes up. Sometimes nothing comes up even if I do word it correctly, so I'm not sure how exactly this search engine works.

There is a way to sort by topic, top left,  but unless everyone gets on the ball about naming the topics correctly it won't work. I think the first zillion pages are "no subject."

Okay, "no subject" is only the first couple pages, but there are a zillion pages to wade through and no easy way to get to say, the letter R.

I to totally agree.

This idea has come up in the past, however, I don't think it's really feasible. Crohn's is so different for each of us and there are just too many topics to address. If we made one "sticky" for each topic, we could end up with the first 3 pages being nothing but "sticky topics". If we put all of these posts together, it would be too large and unwieldy for anyone to benefit from.

What would be really helpful would be for members to be more specific in their topic lines, so that specific issues would be easier to identify without having to read the actual thread. So many have titles like "Help" or "Need Info/Opinions" etc.

Honestly, I'd love to see this work, I just don't think it's practical to do it with the way we are currently set up. I know that the search is not optimal and often makes it difficult to find threads that even I know are there.

Another helpful thing would be to at least scroll through the first page or two before posting a new topic. There have been several times where I have seen 2, 3 or even 4 topics that were essntially the same started by different members and all on the first page.

There have been times where I've posted links to previous threads that I knew were out there. For older memebrs, this is a good way to avoid having to repoeat the same info you've already posted to someone else, and still get the info to the member who is in need of a reply.

You know, if they would find a cure for this crappy disease, we would not need to ask so many questions.

I too have had trouble with the search engine. For example, I posted a few days ago about dizziness and 6 mp. But, first I searched on "dizzy" "6 mp" and "side effects 6 mp." I came up with literally two or three results, and they were sort of random, while I know there have been pages and pages of posts about 6 mp side effects.
