I have been on 6mp since September. I love it, I hope I can stay on it. I get my blood levels checked monthly, my GI doc says not to get hung up on the number of my white count. My white count should be around 4. I also get liver and pancreas enzyme levels checked. So far so good. I haven't had any problem with my Crohn's since I've been on 6mp. I've had a cold for about a week, but my GI doc says it will take me a little longer to get over it.
I'll be getting another MRI next month to see if my fistulas have healed, and then we'll decide if I stay on 6mp or not.

The test to take is the TPMT test, to see whether you are the 1 in 300th person that does not make the enzyme that helps to use 6mp or Imuran. If you don't have the enzyme, could cause dangerous bone marrow suppression. See link below for info:

I was on 6-mp for about 3 months and it did not work out well for me. It made me sicker than the actual Crohn's...hair loss, blinding headaches, nausea, and extreme fatigue. I know many others though, that have had great success. I hope it works out well for you!
