Name of shot given for Remicade reaction???

Does anyone happen to know the name of the shot (similar or type of steroid I think) they give you when you have areaction during Remicade infusion.  I am pregnant and had one today.  I would like to know the name so I can tell ny OB/GYN.

Well these are just guesses since I am not on remi... if you had a severe reaction you may have had epinephrine. A more minor one would have contained an anti-histamine such as whatever the active ingrediant is in benadryl. Finally a common steroid would be prednisone. Hope that helps!

The one time I started to have a reaction they put 25mg of benadryl in my i.v. The reaction stopped immediately. The only reason I had the reaction was because the nurse started the meds going too fast in the pump. It had never happened before and hasn't happened since.

It wasn't any of those.  I am allergic to benadryl,  so they gave my Zertec before the IV.  I had only received 9cc 30 min into it when I had my reaction.  The nurse told me the name,  but I can't remember it. All I remember is it was two words and she said it was a steroid (or similar to prednisone).  Thanks for the rsponses and all of your help.

Does solu-medrol or solu-cortef, forms of iv cortisone sound familiar?
