nausea nausea!!!

I agree with Kasper on this one. Most of our medicines HAVE the side effect of nausea (yay for us!!). If it is caused by gas, try gas pills (GasX) and a heating pad. If that isn't taking care of it, or if you are getting the extreme vertigo/nausea, ask your doctor for an anti-nausea medicine. I know it's yet another pill in the "arsenal", but I can live with just about everything *BUT* constant nausea.

There are homeopathic remedies out there for nausea, but most haven't worked for me since it is caused by the medicines I take, and isn't just "run of the mill" nausea.

My biggest complaint in a flare and out of a flare has always been nausea. I take 8mg Zofran every morning when I first get up and Phenergan 25 mg everynight when I go to bed. Occasionally I take a 4mg Zofran if needed in the afternoon. Meds can cause the nausea, but so can strictures. My nausea I believe is caused by my surgeries. Things just dont move thru me like they used to and that causes the nausea.

with the heating pad. Do i put it on my stomach, chest, or lay on it on my back?? I never heard of using a heating pad for nausea. Thanks for your help. I just didnt think the nausea feeling would be so strong. I was feeling great before the 13th. After doing my humaria shot and dropping on my steriod feel yucky more and more during the day and night. Thank god have 4 day weekend.

For the heating pad: I switch it around from my stomach to my back, depending on what what's hurting the most that day. For the nausea, keeping it on your stomach seems to help the most for me.

I am nauseous all day long and all night strong. I am in remission but still taking reglan and phenergan to control the nausea. I take it a half hour before I eat and take my other meds and find that helps. I have mild gastric paresis but I think all the meds contribute to the nausea. I did love Zofran in the hospital but haven't had to use it since my flare subsided.

I never used to get nausea, but for the last year and a half I have had severe nausea. I have Zofran and Tigan, oral and suppository. As far as non pill remidies, Green Tea or chicken boulion seem to settle things a bit, but also saltines with a bit of butter. Something to do with the salt/fat combo helps. If I can't tolerate the butter or I'm out, I always have salty crackers or pretzels with me. Just putting a few bites of a bland salty something in my stomache seems to help some. Gingerale helps too, but that goes back to when we were kids and sick and our moms would bring it to us in bed. And who doesn't feel better when you think back to being taken cared by your mom!
