I find that if I sleep on my stomach or on my right side I am in horrible pain. My cd is in my terminal illeum so am I irritating the area by sleeping on it?

Yes, I can sleep on my back without belly pain BUT...... I have back troubles too so if I lay on my back too long I end up sciatica pain. Go figure huh?

Whenever I have pain or nausea, I sleep on my left side. I can no longer sleep on my stomach because I will get stomach pain.

I sleep best on my back and to avoid back pains I sleep with a pillow under my knees and feet, it's made a major difference...I really need to get a new matress because I know it's my matress that's causes my sore back if I don't sleep with the extra pillows.

I have Crohn's in my distal ileum. When I have pain, I shift from side to side, but I do find that holding a pillow to my abdomen helps. I can't sleep on my stomach either!

I found that lying on my back with two or three pillows under my head and shoulders, and one under my knees (or just pulling my knees up) and lying really still got me through some painful times.

I sleep on my back only and ever since I had Crohn's. It was too hard to sleep on my stomach so I gave up.
Good Luck!

I sleep on my left side most of the time, always with a pillow between my legs. Helps take the pressure off of my back. If you have back problems you should never sleep on yout stomach and avoid sleeping on your back, per my ortho. Susie

On my worst nights...I sleep in the recliner on my left side with pillows in between my knees or on my back. In both positions I use a heating pad on lower back & upper butt cheeks. The heat pad also helps me sweat out the low grade fever without drugs. 3 birds...one stone.

I'd suggest trying a body pillow - it's done wonders for me. Put it between your knees on your side, and under them on your back. This is also good for back and knee pain.
